Tragic Passing of 3-Year-Old Immigrant Child on Asylum Journey:

Authorities said a 3-year-old immigrant child who was travelling by bus from Texas to Chicago in search of asylum passed away on Thursday in southern Illinois.

A representative of the Illinois Department of Public Health confirmed the girl’s death to CBS News at a hospital in Marion County. She was supposed to be on the road with her parents. She wasn’t given a name.

Both the Illinois health official and the Texas Division of Emergency Management acknowledged that the girl was travelling on a bus that had left from Brownsville, a border town in Texas.

No information on a potential cause of death was given.

The kid “presented with health concerns,” Texas officials said in a statement, so the bus “pulled over and security personnel on board called 911 for emergency attention.” Before being transported by ambulance to a hospital, the girl received treatment from paramedics.

In a statement, the Illinois Department of Public Health stated that it is “working to the fullest extent possible with local health officials, state police, and federal authorities to get answers in this tragic situation.”

GOP leaders have come under fire for allegedly employing immigrants as political pawns.

In recent months, Abbott has dispatched a number of migrant buses to Los Angeles, while the administration of Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has dispatched a number of chartered planes to Sacramento, the capital of California.

Rob Bonta, the attorney general of California, stated of the practise in June that it was “immoral and disgusting” and that it was not a choice of public policy. Read more
